What We Did Today
We talked about GPS and GIS as tools and technologies used by geographers, then started talking about the five themes of geography.

Kettner - Science - 10/6/2016

What We Did Today
We started the "Follow the Energy" activity. Students worked in groups looking at situations and had to identify the energy transformation in each picture. We will continue this tomorrow after the quiz.

Study for your vocabulary quiz.  It will be a matching quiz. The words come directly from our notes: energy, potential energy, elastic potential energy, gravitational potential energy, kinetic energy, electricity, chemical, mechanical, nuclear, light (electromagnetic), thermal.

This homework is due on Monday, Oct. 17.

You may turn it in before the due date, but it will be late (lower grade) if not turned in when you come to class.

Kettner - Science - 10/5/2016

What We Did Today
We finished correcting our energy notes and began discussing energy transformations. We started tracing the path of energy from the sun to the energy that is used to start our computers up at home.

Homework
Complete the assignment we started in class. Use your notes and article we read earlier last week to finish the energy transformations. We will have a vocabulary quiz Friday. I will discuss the format tomorrow.
