Monday:  AoW (Article of Week), Reading Quilt Due, Social Issues Book Party
Tuesday: AoW, New Social Issue book selection and new quilt, brainstorming important issues for a writing topic
Wednesday: Sub in both Werber/Rossiter - Read, work on quilt & 4 square for AoW
Thursday: Read, Quilt work, Newspaper Hunt for Social Issue, and  practice counterargument paragraph for AoW
Friday: AoW questions and turn in, Read and work on quilt, choosing a Social issue topic


Homework
New Social Issues Book selection - students can choose from book club books or their own (approved by us)
Social Issue essay topic - start looking into issues that you care about for our  "Take a Stand/Propose a Solution"  (will work in class next week)
Quilts may be turned in late (5 point deduction)
New Quilt given out this week (work on as you read! Class time given)

What We Did Today
We started the lab, "Mixed Reactions". We will finish the lab tomorrow.

Homework
None unless you were absent on Friday. On Friday, students had the entire hour to work on two separate assignments and I have uploaded them in "Science Files". The first sheet is called, "Changes is Everyday Life". On the front, you should use a blue pen to underline the physical changes and use a red pen to underline any chemical changes. On the back, you should complete WS 2-4. The second sheet is " What are Molecules and Atoms?" - complete both sides.

What We Did Today:

Students completed a review packet to prepare for Check Up 1. This will be an open-note quiz over Investigation 1. The quiz will be on Thursday, March 2.


For the quiz, students need to be able to:

  • Find the number of people represented in a line plot

  • Find the minimum data value in a line plot

  • Find the maximum data value in a line plot

  • Find the range of a line plot

  • Find the mode of a line plot

  • Find the median value in a line plot

  • Create a line plot

  • Create a set of data that matches a given criteria of minimum, maximum, median and total pieces of data

Homework:
