What We Did Today

Read The Hour of the Bees and looked for motivations and problems to help us better understand the themes within the book. The students also did the same in their own independent reading novels. Mrs. Rossiter's classes worked on typing their theme based essays and Mrs. Werber's classes worked on grammar-commas.

Homework

Mrs. Rossiter: If you need to, continue to work on typing your essay at home.  All rough drafts are due Tuesday, January 10th.  We will revise Wednesday -Thursday, and the essays are due Friday, January 13th, turned in to Google Classroom.

Mrs. Werber: Read and continue adding to your "Motivation/Problem - Lesson (Theme)" T-chart.

What We Did Today

Students were given the "Element Research and Data Sheet"  and used the hour to research their element. Once all the information is collected, students will be asked to write a story and draw a picture of his/her super element. The final draft of the project is due January 20.

Homework

Work on your research. Your notes need to be completed by Wednesday, January 11. I will be checking them in as a grade. If you forgot or lost your note taking guide your can find it in Science Files.

What We Did Today

Students were introduced to the Super Element Project. Each student was given an element to research. They need to find out about the element's physical and chemical properties as well as finding out its everyday uses. Once all the information is collected, students will be asked to write a story and draw a picture of his/her super element. The final draft of the project is due January 20.

Read about your element tonight. We will have all class period to take notes tomorrow.
